Liza and my trip to the alps began with the climbing world championship in Bern, where we could witness the skill of Ai Mori, Janja Garnbret and Jakob Schubert. For myself it did not go as well, I caught some stomach bug and almost chose to cancel. But I decided to not go down without a fight and clawed my way up the qualification routes with mediocre results, after which I really needed a nap. However, the time in Bern and meeting so many friends and fellow climbers was a blast despite the health glitch. The local sandstone bouldering crag really made up for missing finals and the swimming in the river that runs through the city is unique. And watching my comrades Isak and Dina crush the paraclimbing finals and win gold for Norway was the cherry on top of the pie, you guys rock!
